Glasgow based singer Quinie releases her third album, Forefowk, Mind Me, with Upset The Rhythm. To celebrate we are hosting the official Launch party at Mono, on Thursday 29th of May.
Working from the Scots song tradition, Quinie brings an approach to folk music that is both reverent and radical—exploring authenticity in tradition as something continually reshaped rather than preserved.
To develop this record, Quinie did a walking research trip across Argyll with her horse, Maisie, exploring connection to land, ancestors, and tradition. The album’s vinyl release is accompanied by an artist’s book and film documenting the process.
The launch party will be a rare chance to see the record performed by the full and original band featuring Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh (viola), Oliver Pitt (duduk, bouzouki, percussion), Harry Górski-Brown (small pipes, violin), and Stevie Jones (double bass, recording, mixing)—blending traditional, early, and experimental music.

UZGANC choir
Uzganc is a Glasgow based choir started by Martin Steuck (aka Wormhook). It is a testing ground for voices, made up of a changeable group musicians and non musicians. They push frank lyrics through a sausage machine of multiple voices, harmonies and structural shifts to create something relatable and otherworldly.
